Dancan Were serves as the Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability, and Learning Officer at The Toolkit for Skills and Innovation, a socially driven organization empowering vulnerable youth in Kenya through skills training, certification, and employment linkages. He holds over five years of experience in program monitoring, impact evaluation, and data-driven decision-making and is dedicated to strengthening systems for measurable impact and fostering inclusive economic opportunities for marginalized communities.
CURRENT ROLE & CONTRIBUTIONS
Dancan leads the design and implementation of Toolkit’s robust M&E frameworks to track program efficiency, outcomes, and long-term impact, ensuring alignment with donor goals and organizational KPIs. His work bridges data and action, training teams on best practices, analyzing performance trends, and translating insights into adaptive strategies. He drives scalable solutions for youth employability and economic resilience.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
Dancan holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics and Statistics from Laikipia University and is proficient in SPSS, Stata, Python, and data visualization tools. Before joining Toolkit, he worked with Kenya Women Microfinance Bank (KWFT) as a Research and Innovations Officer.
