Hosea Mugera is the Manager at The Toolkit for Skills and Innovation, a leading social enterprise

that transforms Africa’s vulnerable youth through skilling with technology and linkage to jobs.

TTI’s sectors of interest include Digital Skills and Online Jobs, Climate Smart Agriculture, Con-

struction Sector, Consultancy and Research, and Renewable Energy. TTI was founded in 2014 to

address the crisis of youth unemployment in Africa, having noted there existed a profound shortage

of skills that are necessary for Africa’s growth.

Hosea has over 20 solid years as an educator and practitioner in youth empowerment. At TTI, he is

responsible for the innovative skilling of youth in various sectors. He has led the training, assessment,

and certification of thousands of youth welders, scaffolders, tilers, electricians, plumbers, solar techni-

cians, agri-prenuers, and many others.

Hosea has been a member of the Board of Trustees at Marist International University College MIUC) for

two terms and now a member of the steering Committee at Kenya National Qualifications Authority

(KNQA) that conducted the first pilot ever for Recognination of Prior Learning (RPL) in eight counties

of Kenya in December 2022. The committee mandate is to oversee the rolling up of the RPL including

the policies.

He possesses a wealth of experience having worked with religious educational institutions and interna-

tional NGOs in Kenya, Italy, Rwanda, and Tanzania.

Hosea holds a Master’s degree in Education Research and Evaluation from the Catholic University of

East Africa (CUEA) in Kenya and A Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from Pontifical Urbaniana

University (PUU) in Italy.
